Background of the project
The five-year BRIDGE+ program will run from November 2023 to December 2028 and is being carried out by a group of partners led by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, Wageningen University (WUR), and Agriterra, with funding provided by the Dutch Embassy.
With an emphasis on smallholder farmers within the mixed farming system, the overarching goal of the BRIDGE+ program is to support the development of a dairy value chain that generates inclusive and sustainable benefits for all of its participants, including the larger community. Three levels of operation will be included in this project to achieve this goal: (1) smallholder farmers: increasing the advantages of dairy farming; (2) dairy value chain: enhancing food safety and functioning; and (3) sector level: building institutional framework.
Role: Advisor for Dairy Milksheds
The goal of the Position
Facilitate, assist, and oversee project execution aimed at improving the growth of the dairy industry at the milkshed level. This is the main goal of the role. This includes, among other things, coordinating the dairy sector at the milk shed level, assessing potential stakeholders, assessing challenges and opportunities, engaging stakeholders, creating B2B connections, and facilitating and offering service delivery support to the project’s beneficiaries (smallholder and commercial dairy farmers, dairy cooperatives, Agro-Input Dealers, small-scale dairy processors, and schools).
Working at the milkshed (sub-regional) level, the Milkshed Advisor has direct responsibility for the project’s completion at that level. The person in this role assists in ensuring that all project components are implemented in a quality manner and that the deliverables are met by the intended customers or communities. carries out the project’s milkshed-level delivery. Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a technological discipline that is both specialized and relevant.
- A minimum of six years experience in project implementation and development work, with at least three of those years spent in the dairy industry.
- Experience in the dairy industry is crucial.

Role: Treasury and Disbursement Coordinator
The goal of the Position
Within an organization, the disbursement and treasury operations need to be managed and overseen by a senior executive known as the disbursement and treasury coordinator. Strategic planning, financial analysis, and maintaining effective cash management procedures are all part of this role. To preserve financial stability, maximize cash flow, and reduce financial risks, the Head of Disbursement and Treasury is essential.
Job Specifications

Risk management and compliance:
- Verify that internal controls, rules, and procedures about treasury and disbursement operations are being followed.
- Recognize and reduce the financial risks related to treasury and disbursement activities.
- Work together with both internal and external auditors to resolve audit findings and guarantee compliance.
- Remain current on all applicable laws, rules, and accounting guidelines. To prevent the organization from incurring penalties, ensure government taxes, pensions, and tax reports are completed and updated on time.
Team Development and Leadership: Supervise and direct a group of Treasury and Disbursement employees, offering direction, training, and performance evaluations.

Requirements

Role: Intern Project Assistant
Context of the Project
SNV Ethiopia is carrying out the Market-based Innovation for Nutrition in Ethiopia (MINE) initiative in collaboration with Sight and Life (SAL). Two Woredas from the East Shoa Zone and rural Kebeles within the Bishoftu city administration in the Oromia regional state have been the sites of the project’s pilot phase. Project activities are being carried out to reach 333,400 pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and 6000 children under the age of two during the pilot period (2022–2025). As part of this initiative, SNV is implementing a subsidized program aimed at improving egg-eating habits and eventually reducing stunting in children under the age of two.
The Job MINE project aims to establish subsidy shops, provide coupons to carers, and connect carers with each subsidy shop owner so that children can receive subsidized eggs. To this end, Health Extension Workers (HEWs) have been employed by the East Shoa zone Lume and Adaa Woreda and Bishoftu city administration health offices as part of the project’s subsidy program.
The Project Assistant works for an SNV Country Organisation and is assigned to support the MINE project nationally. Specifically, they help with project execution, with a focus on the subsidy system. The project assistant makes sure that the project team’s service requests are met on schedule. The project assistant will help with the execution of the subsidy plan as well as finance and administration.
Job Specifications
Settlement of project payments:
- Follow the finance team and Awash Bank regularly to ensure that payments are released; • Visit subsidized stores regularly to collect used coupons, produce payment summary sheets, and submit them to finance for reimbursement.
- Provide the project manager with regular updates about each shop’s reimbursement status.
Office administration and documentation:
- Arrange events, attend project meetings, and take part in other activities.
- Complete further MINE paperwork tasks about beneficiary kid profiles and subsidy settlement.
Project reporting: • Compiles and arranges data; creates reports following specifications; conducts regular analysis under supervision.

Experience
