PETCO Ethiopia Job Vacancy 2023

Rules of reference and request for an invitation to show interest in offering specialized skill-gap filling training in basketry and fundamental business training to women working in Addis Abeba’s basket-producing industry

ORGANISATION BACKGROUND JOB DESCRIPTION
The Ethiopian Civil Society Organisations Authority registered PETCO Ethiopia Recycling Community Organisation (PETCO Ethiopia) in 2019 as a non-profit national organization. It symbolizes a collaborative effort by the Ethiopian private sector to promote the corporate social responsibility of circular economy initiatives in the nation. PETCO Ethiopia is working to improve sustainability measures to reduce the environmental, social, and economic implications of solid waste. It is particularly interested in the area in which solid waste generates value for consumers and companies while having no negative effect on individuals or the environment. Implementing a life-cycle solid waste management strategy helps to support current plastic waste management activities, stimulates the formation of new collection and recycling initiatives, and advocates a strong emphasis on public and consumer awareness creation programs.

The organization employs a Circular Economy (CE) concept, which enables the tide of plastic garbage to flow but turns this goal into a fully functional, closed-loop system by connecting all important participants in the value chain to make collaborative efforts both individually and collectively.

PETCO Ethiopia is now striving to secure the sustainability of women empowerment projects in Addis Abeba’s four Subcities, namely L/Kura, Yeka, Kirkos, and Addis Ketema, with the financial help of the GIZ NatuReS program. After completing a fast gap assessment among project recipients, the project seeks to offer need-based technical and training assistance, as well as aid in market connection building.
