GIZ NGO Position Available for Intern
International cooperation for sustainable development is a field in which the German implementing organization Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH offers services globally. In more than 120 nations worldwide, we strive to create a future worth living.

The German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the German Federal Ministry of Nutrition and Agriculture (BMEL), and other commissioning parties hire GIZ to carry out projects in Ethiopia and Djibouti. The GIZ Office in Addis Ababa manages these projects.

The Better Migration Management III (BMM III) Programme aims to enhance the human-rights-based management of safe, orderly, and regular migration while assisting national and competent authorities in combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling into and out of the Horn of Africa.

The European Commission is providing co-financing for the Programme, which was commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and will run from October 2022 to September 2025. An Implementing Partnership of the British Council, IOM, UNODC, CIVIPOL, and the lead organization, GIZ, facilitates the implementation. The Horn of Africa includes the following countries as intervention partners for the program: Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Uganda.

Position: Internship

Requirements

A law degree from a university or a degree in any social science.

Work experience

• It is not necessary to have prior work experience.
  Proficiency in English with additional knowledge and competencies
• outstanding proficiency with ITC technologies, including computer programs (like Microsoft Office) and associated software (word, excel, PowerPoint), as well as phones, faxes, emails, and the internet;
• strong capacity for self-organization;
• being on time and disciplined;
• Greeting guests and visitors with a smile; protecting confidentiality; and adhering to related policies and regulations regarding data protection when necessary.
