Ethiopia’s National Dialogue needs more legitimacy and diversity.
Although there isn’t much resistance to the dialogue’s first phase, “national consensus” is unlikely to be reached with this structure.
A National Dialogue Commission was formed by authorities in December 2021, at the height of the conflict between the federal government of Ethiopia and Tigrayan forces, to resolve disagreements on important matters and create a “national consensus.” The panel is given three years to complete these tasks.

In February 2022, the Federal Parliament nominated eleven commissioners, and a National Advisory Council was established in May 2023. The selection of participants and an agenda is one of the most crucial stages of any national conversation, which the commission has already begun.

Key players from all sides of the political spectrum must be included in the process to address the main causes of conflict in Ethiopia, but is that happening?

To select attendees and agenda topics for the national plenary, the commission divided Ethiopians into nine groups. “People with a discernible livelihood” include public workers, educators, artists, youngsters, women, leaders of community groups, and members of the business sector.

Seven government institutions, civil society organizations, and community groups will assist the commission in selecting fifty delegates from each of the nine categories in each woreda (municipality). This implies that in the zone-level sessions of the discourse, 450 members will represent each woreda. They will choose the meeting delegates and issues for the agenda at the regional level. Eventually, nominees from the federal and regional levels will take part in the national plenary.

About: Water Works Design and Supervision Enterprise (WWDSE), Construction Design Share Company (CDSCo.), and Transport Construction Design Share Company (TCDSCo.) were three companies that were involved in the planning, study, design, and supervision of water and hydropower, building, and transportation sector works since 1998, 1977, and 1987, respectively. These companies came together to form Ethiopian Construction Design & Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.), a multidisciplinary engineer

With six business units in the areas of water and energy, building and urban, transportation, geotechnics, and underground works, ECDSWCo. is now a fully integrated engineering consulting firm offering consulting services. These units are supported by two fully organized and dedicated centers, one with advanced laboratory and research and the other with surveying, geospatial, and civil informatics in search of excellence and quality. Excellence and characteristics are more than just words to ECDSWCo. We are dedicated to building a knowledge foundation and offering exceptional, long-lasting technical solutions to address the problems facing our people and the continent of Africa.

In low- and middle-income nations like Ethiopia, it may be especially difficult to safeguard people from low-quality medical items and to provide access to quality-assured ones. Nevertheless, accomplishing these objectives is crucial to the fight against illnesses that can be prevented and treated. To improve Ethiopia’s medical product quality assurance procedures, PQM has been working with Ethiopian producers, the Ethiopian Food, Medicine and Health Care Administration and Control Authority (EFMHACA), and other regional partners since 2009.
