Job Purpose: Based on a clear and shared understanding of Partnership policy, strategy, role and approach, and core partnership principles, the Partnership Coordinator will play a critical role in fostering and promoting culture, attitudes, values, and skills conducive to collaborative partnerships throughout the country program. The Partnership Coordinator will collaborate closely with partner organizations and the larger Country team, reporting directly to the Programme Quality Director.
The post holder will follow the conduct guidelines provided in the Participant Protection Policy (P4) and the Concern Code of Conduct. The post holder’s Concern P4 responsibilities include the following:
• Be devoted to creating a safe work environment and support and encourage their team, partner organizations, and beneficiaries to uphold the standards stated in the P4 and the Concern Code of Conduct; and
• Assist in the development of preventative strategies to lessen the possibility of misuse in the Concern program.
Principal obligations and roles
Encourage Successful Collaborations
• Work together with technical coordinators and directors to lead procedures that guarantee Concern creates and preserves a thorough working knowledge of Ethiopia’s local actor landscape and creates, develops, and maintains a network of strategic partner relationships, including those with women-led organizations.
• Work together with technical and area coordinators to proactively identify local actors and initiate contact to explore possible partnerships.
• Assist in the creation of new program concepts that place a priority on partnerships by collaborating with the director of program quality to make sure that partnerships are suitably incorporated into all new program development.
• Take the lead in Concern’s participation in UN coordinating forums, CSO, INGO, government, and corporate sector cooperation networks, as well as in encouraging teamwork.
• Assist the country team in advocating with donors to advance policies and guidelines that take into account the needs and interests of regional players.
• Actively participate in and support country office partnership initiatives. This includes identifying opportunities for system improvements, leading working groups and thematic meetings on partnership approaches and practices, and coordinating to ensure a cogent, effective, and efficient joint approach to partnerships.
• Record the lessons learned from Ethiopia’s cooperation and involvement with partners, and when appropriate, share them with Concern Worldwide worldwide.
• Ensure that partners understand the compliance requirements in their entirety and that they are implemented consistently by donor, organizational, and other relevant standards. This includes adhering to deadlines for implementation, as well as regulations for procurement, eligibility for expenditures, reporting, budget revisions, cost- or non-cost-extensions, and other factors.
• Assist in coordinating capacity support, workshops, and other events while coordinating with the finance unit, human resources, logistics, and HO technical heads.
• Assistance in raising partners’ profile within the relationship
• Work with partners to develop efficient management techniques and tools that are founded on the values of openness, respect, shared accountability and shared responsibility.
• Work together with partner personnel, the MEAL coordinator, other team members, and possible consultants to organize the baseline, evaluate project activities, record lessons gained through case studies, and oversee workshops.
Management of Partnerships
• Ensure that partners understand the compliance requirements in their entirety and that they are implemented consistently per donor, organizational, and other relevant standards. This includes adhering to deadlines for implementation, as well as regulations for procurement, eligibility for expenditures, reporting, budget revisions, cost- or non-cost-extensions, and other factors.

Support for Partners and Sharing of Capacity
• Follow up with partners to ensure that technical assistance and capacity building are provided by program approaches, international humanitarian standards (e.g., Core Humanitarian Standards, SPHERE), etc., in coordination with the relevant Concern staff.
• Choose a local partner for organizational development projects, and collaborate with the program quality director on them.
• Support partners to make sure that accountability mechanisms are incorporated into their programming, that functional communication channels and feedback handling mechanisms are in place, and that these mechanisms are in line with or equivalent to Concern’s Complaints & Response Mechanism (CRM) and safeguarding procedures/policies. This is done in coordination with the Programme Quality Coordinator director, the Accountability Advisor, and the Safeguarding focal points.
• Plan partner exchanges and educational visits.
Management of Staff Performance and Learning and Development
• Select, oversee, and help partnership team members develop their technical and managerial proficiencies.
• Provide clear expectations, establish annual performance goals, give timely, positive, and constructive performance feedback, and coach, train, oversee, and mentor direct-report employees. Documented semi-annual performance reviews are also part of this role.
• Ensuring that partnership unit personnel are hired, their performance is managed, and their professional growth is prioritized, as well as the unit’s proper resource allocation and structure.
• Create and put into practice strategies for increasing the capacity of remote management to strengthen the Concern teams at the Field Office.
• Uphold cordial and professional relationships with team members, encouraging a strong sense of unity and providing supervision and direction to ensure employees are performing their jobs to the best of their abilities.
• Offer a quantifiable growth plan that incorporates on-the-job training to improve technical proficiency, facilitate information sharing within the team, and offer career direction.
• Seek out chances to assist employees in advancing their careers. • Recognize, train, and develop employees’ abilities and capacities as needed.
Representation as well as further duties:
• When needed, fill in as a stand-in at the Country office and other places.
• As part of learning and at the line manager’s request, assume accountability for various tasks that do not fall under the purview of this job description.

Requirements
• Six or eight years of relevant experience, corresponding to a first or postgraduate degree. a degree in any discipline that is pertinent to the development of systems, compliance, organizational development, project/program management, governance, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
• Four years or more of experience managing people.
• Prior experience managing a diverse staff
