Establishment

After meeting all the prerequisites set out by the National Bank of Ethiopia, Abay Bank was formally founded on July 14, 2010, and on November 3, 2010, it began conducting full-fledged banking activities. As of December 31, 2023, the bank’s paid-up capital was Birr 5.171 billion, or five billion one hundred seventy one million Birr, and its shareholder count was 4,479, or four thousand four hundred seventy nine. With its branch network, the Bank is prepared to provide services to all areas of the economy. It offers its services to the following industries: real estate, construction, transportation, industry, agriculture, and domestic and international commerce.
