August 14, 2015 (Education Bureau) “Education focuses on the building of the generation and the nation, so any body should refrain from activities that disrupt the educational work,” said Mr. Tsagaye Ghidswork, head of the North Showa Zone Education Department in the Amhara region.

The head of the department said this on the platform of the 2017 education registration campaign under the motto “Education for the next generation”, and since education is a key tool for building the next generation and nation, every body should create a conducive environment for peaceful learning.

Ato Tsagaye stated that the security problem that occurred last year created obstacles to the successful implementation of educational activities, and that education requires peace in a different way, so it is not appropriate for any group to use educational institutions for their own purposes.

He mentioned that the education resources and human resources have been met in the current fiscal year and that the activities of building the image of the school and improving the level of the schools are being carried out.

Mr. Tsagaye said that the registration of students will be held in 1 thousand 19 primary and 59 secondary schools in the zone from August 20, 2016.

Ato Tsagaye stated that since it is highly beneficial to qualify teachers in terms of knowledge, skills and attitudes in order to qualify students at every level, continuous capacity building training is being provided to teachers, principals and supervisors.

He pointed out that the training is timely and brings technology closer.

He emphasized that parents, teachers, partners and stakeholders should realize that the contribution of education to the nation and generation is huge and they should play their part in providing access to education.

The staff of the zone education department, district management members and office officials are participating in the discussion that is being held in Debre Berhan city.
